This project focused on recreating the atmosphere and visual language of The Last of Us through a collaborative environment study.
Our goal was to capture themes of decay, survival and quiet tension while translating them into a believable, production-ready scene using our own interpretation of lighting, composition and storytelling.
Asset Color Pass · Debug View
This color pass was used to clearly separate assets and evaluate scene composition, object readability and spatial depth.
It served as a technical foundation for lighting and texturing decisions later in the pipeline.
Lighting Preview · No Textures
Textures were intentionally removed to focus solely on lighting, shadow placement and overall mood.
This step ensured a strong atmospheric base before introducing surface detail.
Final Render · Texturing & Lighting
The final scene combines lighting, textures and composition to create a cinematic environment inspired by a post-apocalyptic world.
Particular attention was given to color contrast, material balance and visual storytelling to guide the viewer’s eye through the scene.
To conclude the project, an animated outro was created to reinforce the atmosphere of the environment.
Camera movement, pacing and music were carefully chosen to give the scene a cinematic, game-inspired finish.
